Frequently asked questions

Have a question that isn’t answered here? Reach out to our team and we’d be happy to help out.

The Rise Student Card is a secured charge credit card. We give you a demand deposit account (similar to a checking account) and the card product. You deposit money into the DDA account, and that amount represents your credit limit. You can withdraw your money or add more in at any time. You can only spend up to the amount that you have in your account, meaning that you can’t fall into debt.

We’re building the Rise Card specifically for college and grad students. To start, we’ll be launching at select colleges across the US before expanding more broadly. You’ll be able to use a picture of your passport, an ITIN, or a SSN to apply for the card.

You earn Rise points on every purchase that you make. These points can then be redeemed directly within the app. We have two types of points redemption options: free purchases and experiences. Each cardholder will have a unique set of offers that’s personalized to their interests.
