Have a question that isn’t answered here? Reach out to our team and we’d be happy to help out.

The Rise Tuition Card works at every private K-12 school, community college, 4-year college, and grad school program in the United States. Even if your school only accepts ACH/checks, you can earn points on tuition with Rise (see “How does paying my tuition with the Rise Tuition Card work” for full details).

Yes, you’re able to use the Rise Tuition Card for any tuition payments that you make, whether they are for yourself, your child, your spouse, etc.

When you receive your Rise Tuition Card, you’ll also receive an account number and routing number tied to your account. On your school’s payment portal, click that you’d like to make an ACH payment, and enter your account and routing number tied to your Rise account. From there, we’ll execute the payment by doing your choice of:

  • Rise Safeguard: Pulling the balance directly out of one of your savings or checking accounts connected to your Rise app.
  • Rise Credit: Adding the balance as a transaction on your Rise Tuition Credit Card.
  • Rise Loan (future offering): Connecting you directly with a partner loan provider who will provide the balance amount.

You can set up which payment method you prefer in your Rise app. All payment methods will reward you with 1x Rise points per dollar spent on tuition.

Through Rise Safeguard, you can pay for your tuition without touching your available credit line, while still earnings 1x points on your tuition payments.

When you pay your tuition using Rise Safeguard, we’ll withdraw the money from your linked bank account and transfer it to your school. You must connect an external savings or checking account to your Rise app to use Rise Safeguard.

If you want to pay your tuition as a credit card transaction through Rise Credit, then your limit must be higher than the amount that you’re going to pay for that ACH payment.

Yes! International students who pay tuition at a US-based school are eligible to apply for the Rise Tuition Card. This is a great way for you to build your credit in the US, while also being rewarded when you pay tuition and make any other purchases.

International students can apply for the Rise Tuition Card with a SSN or an ITIN.

Yes. Please use the portal within our app to submit proof of your 529 plan payment, and we’ll reward you with the equivalent Rise points.

Yes, if your school only accepts checks, we’ll send them a check on your behalf, and you can choose between our 3 options to pay the tuition: Rise Safeguard, Rise Credit, and Rise Loan (coming in the future).

Rise’s Student Card program is the best way to start building your child’s credit score, while also helping them build good credit habits. When you add your child as an authorized user through our Student Card program, they’ll receive their own credit card and app login information. Through the Rise app, you can set their credit limit (as a portion of your own), send them Rise points, track their spending, lock their card, etc. They’ll earn their own Rise points on purchases they make, and they’ll also be able to complete credit learning challenges within the Rise app to earn additional Rise points.

You can use any of your schools ACH payment plans that are available, which are typically one lump sum payment, bi-annual payments, or monthly payments.

You can earn 100,000 Rise points from tuition payments each year, which is equivalent to $100,000 in tuition spend per year.

At this time, Rise’s ACH functionality can only be used at eligible US-based K-12 schools, colleges, and grad schools for tuition payments. We do not offer 1x points on student loan payments or room & board payments.
